New Year. New Start. New Goals.... new way of eating. I know what your thinking... and its probably a variation on one of a these things:
1. Jill redesigned her blog!
2. Jill is actually blogging again... what? really?... geez, took her long enough...
3. Jill has new goals of eating better for the new year.... so cliche.
And if you did think any of these things, you are correct! But there is more.
Many things have changed in recent months. One of the more exciting changes is my new job... it's exciting because I HAVE ONE. With that being said, it's also the reason I took a bit of a hiatus from blogging... you know, reorganize and prioritize.
Another change does indeed have to do with my eating habits, but probably not what you're thinking...
I have been a long time sufferer of IBS. For the last 8 years, I have been in constant discomfort and pain due to the symptoms of this embarrassingly named health problem. As a final straw, I visited a registered dietitian who introduced me to a way of eating that helps 75% of people who suffer from IBS. It's called the low FODMAP diet... we can get into details later, but basically that means no more gluten and no more lactose (and a few more things). Those are some pretty big players in the game of baking.... so it's going to be an adventure.
Do not fret gluten lovers... I still intend on making and baking, but you can continue on with your traditional all-purpose flour while I'll be trying out some alternatives. Baking love for one and all.
In the future, I hope to further explain the low FODMAP diet... as I learn more myself... so that other sufferers out there can be introduced to this method that in a short period of time has already helped me tremendously.
I plan on revamping my 101 List with some new goals that I have... and I'll share as I go, because that's what I do.
Happy New Year, indeed. It's good to be back bloggy blog world.
Sincerely,
Jill
