Want to know a secret? I first feel in love with stove-top popcorn was when I was dating a now ex-boyfriend. His mom made killer popcorn.
Alas, mother's popcorn does not make a relationship though.... Thank goodness because my current guy is pretty swell.
Want to know another secret? The first time I attempted to make popcorn at home I burnt the shnikees out of the pot I was using.... I didn't know what on God's green earth I was doing. That wouldn't have been so bad except that the pot wasn't mine.... oops, sorry Corey! He had to use steel wool to scrape off the burnt on popcorn, and the house pretty much smelled for a week. Domestic I was not.
I always wanted to attempt to make it again, but the swell guy I previously mentioned... well, let's just say he didn't exactly encourage me in that endeavor. I would say he heckled me to the point of exhaustion. Yep, that sounds accurate.
Good thing I tried again, huh Josh?!? I rocked your face off with the awesome-ness of my popcorn! Forgive me. I never claimed maturity would be prevalent here at Sincerely Jill.
Have you ever had homemade popcorn? It's so good! And despite my very poor first attempt, it is actually quite easy and pretty quick to make.
What I love most about homemade popcorn is that you have complete control over what you put on it. I'm a little butter and salt kind of gal... and I mean just a little, teeny tiny, itsy, bi.... I think you get the point, yeah? Freedom is yours!!!
Can you tell that I'm writing this post very late at night? Don't judge.
Please make this popcorn. Mahalo.
